Did you see an SGL aircraft flying overhead?

Did you see one of our aircraft fly overhead? Don’t be alarmed. There is nothing to worry about, and you don’t need to take any action. Our aircraft aren’t spraying anything or emitting dangerous signals, so there is no harm in being under the aircraft. We are an airborne geophysical survey company, and we operate a fleet of specially modified airplanes and helicopters that carry various scientific instruments to measure physical properties of the earth (such as gravity, magnetics, etc.). The data we collect can be used for geological mapping, environmental mapping, and resource exploration, depending on the specific type of survey we are flying. We fly low in order to acquire better geophysical data, but we always follow aviation regulations, and the local aviation authorities are aware of our flights. In addition, the pilots flying the aircraft are specially trained to fly at low level, so there isn’t any undue risk to the public. If you still have concerns, or if you just want some more information, please contact us at surveys@sgl.com.
